Delivery Methods

IHS technical information collections are available in many formats. Refer to the product descriptions or contact your IHS representative for more information.

Internet

For maximum accessibility and flexibility, IHS collections are delivered through a password-protected Web site. Options exist for group or individual login, usage reports, tracking by project, blind logins (hidden password), and other solutions to meet your needs. See Specs & Standards.

Extranet

In high security situations, some organizations prefer to access IHS collections through a dedicated line not connected to the Internet. The IHS Extranet solution uses a browser interface, and functions just like the Internet solution, without exposure to the World Wide Web. See Specs & Standards.

Online (Non-Web)

Available through direct dail-up connection, IHS Online solutions offer extremely fast access and powerful Windows search and reporting functions not possible with Web browsers. See HAYSTACK® Online.

Intranet

For a higher level of security and faster access, you can load IHS collections on your internal Web server. One solution in this category is IHS Intra/Spex™

CD-ROM/DVD

Many IHS collections are available on electronic media. Regular updates delivered through the mail keep your collections current. These cost-effective solutions work well when security is a concern or no Internet connection exists.

Electronic Pay Per View (PPV)

IHS has more than 125,000 technical documents available for individual purchase and immediate electronic download over the Internet. Less common documents can also be delivered electronically in about 24 hours. Nearly 1,000,000 documents are managed, updated, cataloged and delivered by Global Engineering Documents®, a division of IHS.

Hardcopy

Standards, regulations, books, and other printed documents from the world's top societies are available from Global Engineering Documents®, a division of IHS. These can be purchased individually from the Global Web Site or by calling our experienced telesales staff at 800-854-7179 or 303-397-7956.

XML

IHS collections can be delivered in XML format as part of a personalized information solution for your organization. For more information, read about IHS Information Integration Services.
